FIELD: chemistry. SUBSTANCE: method uses electrochemical cell, which has detection and two additional chambers, ion-exchange membrane and electrodes for recording of electric potentials. Ion detection is achieved in cell with flow-type chambers which have one common wall, which is designed as cation-exchange or anion-exchange membrane, which directly contacts electrodes. Said method involves passing acid solutions or alkali and saline solutions through additional chamber with simultaneous application of external potential until constant level of measured signal is achieved. Usage of solutions conforms to specified condition. Height of jump or maximal value of potential establishes amount of ions to be analyzed, time of jump of potential establishes type of ions. EFFECT: increased selectivity and sensitivity for detection of several types of ions. 2 cl, 8 dwg
