FIELD: non-destructive flaw detection, in particular, immersion ultrasound flaw detection. SUBSTANCE: device has housing, which one end carries piezoelectric plate, which is adjoining to dampener. Dampener is designed as two members, which are connected acoustically. Member, which is adjacent to piezoelectric plate, is made from epoxy-like material with filler of high-density metal powder or its oxide. Another member of dampener is made from resin-like material with filler of high-density metal powder or its oxide so that impedances of two members is matched at border that separates them. Height of dampener member, which is made from epoxy-like material with filler of high-density metal powder or its oxide, is within range of λ, where λ is wavelength for half-wave resonance frequency of piezoelectric plate in material of respective dampener member. EFFECT: short duration of acoustic pulse, stable electroacoustic characteristics for transducer with low Q- factor. 2 cl, 1 dwg
