FIELD: measuring equipment.

SUBSTANCE: use: to measure gas flow by means of ultrasonic sensor. Summary of invention consists in the fact that ultrasonic sensor comprises a piezoelectric cell with electrodes arranged in a metal housing, a matching layer made from epoxy resin with spherical elements placed on the housing outer side, wherein spherical elements are made in the form of sapphire and borosilicate microspheres with total volume concentration in epoxy resin of 30–40 % and ratio of each type of microspheres in proportion 1:1.

EFFECT: high sensitivity of the ultrasonic sensor with high strength to external physical effects and possibility of operation under conditions of high pressure of the gaseous medium.
