FIELD: chemical technology. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of hexafluoropropylene used as comonomer in production of fluoroplastics and fluorinated rubber and as raw for synthesis of some fluoroorganic substances. Process is carried out at 0-50 C by bubbling of gaseous hexafluoropropylene through oleum or by mixing liquid hexafluoropropylene with oleum under autogenic pressure for 10-30 min. Oleum is taken in the amount 1 mole (by sulfur trioxide), not less, per 1 mole of trifluorochloroethylene in hexafluoropropylene to be purified and containing 2-30 wt.% of sulfur trioxide.
