FIELD: medical engineering. SUBSTANCE: time is determined by measuring the total amount of ultraviolet radiation reaching a human being and his individual sensitivity to ultraviolet radiation. The device has photodetectors for measuring biologically effective intensity of ultraviolet radiation and light reflection coefficient of skin and unit storing the advised time values as permissible human being ultraviolet radiation exposure time. The photodetectors have chambers provided with light filter and light-sensitive screen having strips graduated on corresponding measured values, or phototransformer for transforming ultraviolet radiation into electric signal. The unit storing the advised values for time a human being is allowed to be exposed to ultraviolet radiation is designed as tables or computer provided with indicator unit. EFFECT: enhanced effectiveness in determining characteristics of maximum curative effectiveness; excluded modes characterized by negative medical and biological consequences. 13 cl, 17 dwg, 7 tbl
