FIELD: road materials, technology of preparing thereof road and aerodrome construction. SUBSTANCE: asphalt concrete comprises mineral slag powder, petroleum bitumen and mineral filler. It further comprises active additive such as silicate and nonsilicate salts of weak acids or sodium or potassium hydroxides, ratios of components being as follows, wt %: mineral slag powder, 6.0-18.0; viscous liquid bitumen, 4.5-9.0; active additive based on (weight of mineral mixture), 0.15-2.50; coarse or fine filler, the balance. Method comprises mixing coarse or fine mineral filler with mineral slag filler and heated bitumen. Simultaneously with bitumen heated to 120-140 C, active additive such as sodium or potassium hydroxides, silicate and nonsilicate salts or weak acids with water with solution density of 1.08-1.35 g/cubic cm, is added. EFFECT: improved strength characteristics of asphalt concrete having properties of hydration solidification with respect to time. 6 cl, 4 dwg, 8 tbl
