FIELD: thermal engineering. SUBSTANCE: method for controlling drives of auxiliary mechanisms incorporating heat engine and electrical machine connected to power system through frequency changer boils down to controlling flowrate of working medium supplied to heat engine, returning waste heat, regulating auxiliary mechanism capacity, and coordinating parameters of electrical machine and power system by changing the frequency. According to invention, electrical machine power is varied within range covering its operation as motor and as generator by means of frequency changer; auxiliary mechanism capacity is controlled by varying electrical machine power; flowrate of working medium supplied to heat engine is regulated according to design expression given in description of invention using current measurement data on drive parameters. EFFECT: enlarged power control range, minimized total cost of heat and electricity including waste heat return. 1 dwg
