FIELD: metallurgy; construction of linings of melting units. SUBSTANCE: lining includes heat-insulating and working refractory layers and refractory hearth. Surface of working layer in melting zone of blast cupola shaft and in section above and blow this zone is made in form of concave (relative to axis of blast cupola) surface of revolution at smooth change to convex (relative to axis of blast cupola) surface of revolution at sections above and below melting zone; ratio of maximum diameter of concave surface of revolution dmax; minimum diameter dmin and shaft diameter dsh is equal to dmax /dsh = 1,2-1,3; dmin /dsh = 0,8-0,9= 0.8 to 0.9 for cold blast cupola and dmax /dsh = 1,3-1,4=1.3 to 1.4 and dmin /dsh = 0,9-0,95=0.9 to 0.95 for hot blast cupola. EFFECT: reduced consumption of refractory materials. 1 dwg
