FIELD: coast, airport or ship radars for monitoring earth and sea surface and detection objects, in particular, of small size. SUBSTANCE: antenna, which is mounted on mobile base, is driven in horizontal plane. Its electric axis is perpendicular or at angle with respect to direction of movement. When antenna moves, reflected signals are added in each distance element. Coherent addition results in artificial (synthesized) antenna aperture, which is significantly greater than aperture of real antenna. Possibility of coherent addition of received signals is provided by means of compensation of phase alterations in received signal. EFFECT: increased angular resolution in azimuth plane. 5 dwg
