FIELD: study of propagation of light in atmosphere. SUBSTANCE: gear determining atmospheric dispersion has optical system with band-pass optical filter, semi-transparent mirror positioned at angle of 45 degrees with respect to optical axis of system, two photodetectors connected to signal processing unit and motor. Salient feature of the proposal lies in insertion of three additional mirrors and disc with radial slots put on shaft of motor. First additional mirror is placed at angle of 45 degrees with optical axis of system and is developed along optical axis relative to semi-transparent mirror through 90 degrees. Second and third additional mirrors are located near slots of disc in parallel to surfaces correspondingly of semi-transparent and first additional mirrors in path of luminous flux of object reflected by them. Disc is placed in plane of images of object formed by optical system and mirrors and photodetectors are set behind slots of disc and are oriented towards second and third additional mirrors. As object is scanned longitudinally and laterally practically at same time accuracy of determination atmospheric dispersion increases.
