FIELD: electrical engineering; plant irradiation devices. SUBSTANCE: device has light source, starting and control gear, and light-distributing unit. Novelty is that mentioned light source is, essentially, high-pressure sodium vapor lamp providing for the following light energy distribution in radiation area active from photosynthesis standpoint (400-700 nm): 400-500 nm - 20 5%; 500-600 nm - 50 5%; 600-700 nm - 30 5%. Novelty is also that lamp filler is composed of sodium in the amount of 0.01 to 0.25 mc mole/cu. cm and mercury in the amount of 0.1 to 5.0 mc mole/cu. cm.
