SUBSTANCE: lighting installation has at least one lighting fixture incorporating one radiation source, starting equipment, and light- distribution device; radiation source is metal-halide lamp with radiation flux distributed in visible spectrum of 380-780 nm as follows: 380-500 nm, 40-50%; 500-650 nm, 35-40%; 650-780 nm, 10-25%. Metal-halide lamp filler has following composition: rare-earth metal halides doped to afford lamp burning, 0.29-3.0 g/cu. cm; alkali metal halides, 0.1-1.25 mg/cu. cm; mercury, 0.5-8.0 mg/cu. cm. Lighting installation ensures operation of radiation source in standby and operating modes with lamp current being from 0.3 to 0.7 and from 0.9 to 1.3 of rated values, respectively.
