FIELD: latent image shaping. SUBSTANCE: method involves water-proofing of solid- body surface by its treatment with charged particle flux. In order to obtain latent image, surface areas not to be modified are masked and dose rate of charged particle flux is adjusted proceeding from visual imperceptibility of treated and masked areas under normal conditions. Latent image is read out at elevated humidity and surface temperature lower than dew point. It is good practice to mask surface areas not to be modified with stamp paint which is removed upon treatment with corpuscular flux. EFFECT: facilitated procedure; enlarged functional capabilities. 2 cl, 2 tbl
