TUMBLING APPARATUS Russian patent published in 2000 - IPC

FIELD: finishing, trimming and strengthening parts in free pelletized medium, possibly in machine- and instrument making for dimensionless working of complex-shape parts. SUBSTANCE: apparatus includes multisection zigzag shaped drum. Lateral surface of each section of drum is formed by two similar non-equilateral trapeziums alternatively joined by means of one equilateral trapezium and second equilateral trapezium whose height is less than that of first one. Lower bases of all trapeziums are equal one to another and they are less than their upper bases also being the same for all four trapeziums. Ends of drum sections form squares; square of successive section is turned relative to square of previous one by angle equal to 180 degres. Each next joined section has sides of square of lower base equal to sides of square of upper base of previous section. EFFECT: increased useful life of apparatus, enhanced intensity of tumbling due to increased degree of mixing. 8 dwg
