TUMBLING BARREL Russian patent published in 2002 - IPC

FIELD: mechanical engineering, finishing, cleaning and strengthening of parts in free state. SUBSTANCE: tumbling barrel comes in the form of rotary polygon screw column made of sections. Sections are different in form and size extending from loading to discharging and are joined in sequence and in turn. First section comprises two sub- sections, one of them being assembled from two large scalene triangles linked with their large bases to sides of equilateral trapezium. Second sub-section is made of small equilateral trapezium to which sides two small scalene triangles are linked. Bases of the latter are equal to large sides of triangle of first subsection. Upper base of trapezium of two sub-sections are equal one another and to small sides of triangles of first subsection and form small inlet hole of section. Lower bases of trapezia are equal one another and to large sides of triangles of second sub-section and form large inlet hole of section. Second section in the form of triangular prism formed by section of cube along diagonal is connected to the latter. Such realization of tumbling barrel allows efficiency of machining of parts and productivity to be raised thanks to more intensive mixing of parts and working medium.
