METHOD FOR MANUFACTURE OF PROFILED POLYMERIC LAMINATED ARTICLES Russian patent published in 2000 - IPC

FIELD: practice of manufacture of profiled polymeric laminated articles, plastic baths, sinks, etc. inclusive. SUBSTANCE: method consists in the fact that the inner layer of acrylic polymer is assembled in a stack with an outer polymeric layer made of stiff thermoplastic material: vinyl plastic, ABC-plastic, impact-strong polystyrene. The outer polymeric layer is provided with through holes with a total cross-section area of 4 to 8 sq.mm per sq. m of the article surface. The stack is heated and subjected to vacuum moulding. For vacuum moulding use is made of a mandrel, having the shape of the article and provided with a pipe union for supply of vacuum. On completion of moulding, the stack is cooled down to the state of vacuum treatment up to the hardening of layers, and the finished article is extracted. EFFECT: simplified practice of manufacture and production of articles with a high stretching factor, their properties remaining unchanged. 2 cl
