FIELD: construction engineering; repair of local defects in pipe lines carrying steam, steam condensate or hot water. SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes application of metal cover plate at the same radius as defect of pipe on defection area. Half-coupling having seat at depth of no less than 5 mm and diameter exceeding size of damaged pipe by at least 10 mm may be used as cover plate; besides that, said half-sleeve has circular groove over perimeter no less than 3x3 mm and two pipe unions: central pipe union connected with seat and end pipe union connected with circular groove. Local damage of pipe is matched with central pipe union and is kept during period of time required for warming-up half-coupling to temperature of pipe line. Circular groove is filled with thermosetting sealant through end pipe union over perimeter and kept during period of time required for hardening of this sealant. Then rated amount of thermosetting sealant is fed through central pipe union at pressure exceeding pressure of transported material to complete filling of space between half-coupling and damaged pipe. EFFECT: enhanced reliability and safety of repair jobs on operating pipe lines. 3 dwg
