FIELD: wood chemistry, in particular, production of charcoal. SUBSTANCE: charcoal kiln has outer heat-insulating housing and inner casing which are separated by cavity. Inner housing is manufactured from metal having increased heat conductivity and is provided with charging door. Charcoal kiln has detachable container mounted on cart. Side walls of container are provided with elliptical slits and immovable screens positioned above slits at an angle to them. Movable screens are mounted on inner casing walls. Concave closure is fixed on inner casing cover above container. EFFECT: increased efficiency and reduced charcoal production costs. 5 cl, 7 dwg
