FIELD: coal chemistry. SUBSTANCE: novel process prescribes charging wood into charcoal kiln which has inner and outer housings separated from one another by air space, charring wood in presence of air admitted from outside, firing and charring inside charcoal kiln inner housing to be completely isolated from atmospheric air by hermetically sealing space between inner and outer housings. Final step is admitting surrounding air into space, after completion of charring process, via openings to allow charcoal and kiln to cool down. EFFECT: simpler technique. 4 cl, 4 dwg
