FIELD: foundry, in particular, equipment for refining and modifying of aluminum alloy in melting and distributing furnaces. SUBSTANCE: apparatus has hermetically sealed hopper with mixing chamber defined by cavity enclosed between two walls of hopper bottom made in the form of upturned cone; tuyere incorporating spiral member and provided with screen positioned on outer surface concentrically to tuyere axis, and pipeline for supplying inert gas onto melt surface; union for supplying inert gas into mixing chamber. Screen has porous insert movable along tuyere axis. Such construction prevents tuyere outlet opening from being welded up. Moreover, air is prevented from being drawn during melt refining process to avoid secondary oxidation of melt. EFFECT: increased efficiency and simplified construction. 1 dwg, 1 tbl
