DEVICE FOR MEASURING RAIL HEAD PROFILE Russian patent published in 2000 - IPC

FIELD: railway transport; construction and repair of permanent way. SUBSTANCE: wt.% invention relates to instruments designed for checking condition of rail track, namely for measuring cross and longitudinal profiles of rail head. Device has carriage with rail contour follower and rail profile reflector, longitudinal beam with support frames, each carrying screw mechanism coupled through conical surface of extensible slider with grips, the latter being coupled with support frame for turning in vertical plane perpendicular to longitudinal axis of rail head. Circular guide coupled with carriage and engaging with measuring instrument and probe is installed on one of support frames. Longitudinal carriage mounted on longitudinal beam is provided with instruments for measuring deflection of longitudinal profile of rail head in vertical and horizontal planes. EFFECT: improved accuracy of measurements, simplified maintenance and servicing of device, enlarged operating capabilities. 3 dwg
