PROTECTIVE DEVICE FOR HYDRAULIC CYLINDER ROD Russian patent published in 2000 - IPC

FIELD: protective device for hydraulic cylinder rods. SUBSTANCE: protective device is made in form of bellows mounted around outlet portion of rod. One end of bellows is secured on cylinder cover and other end is secured on end section of rod fitted with bearing pivot. Corrugations of bellows are made from circular members interconnected over inner and outer diameters. Circular members have form of truncated cones with curvilinear generatrix in undistorted state. Height of each subsequent circular member of bellows exceeds height of previous one in direction from cylinder housing; outer diameter of each subsequent corrugation of bellows exceeds outer diameter of previous corrugation. According to optimal version, end section of rod (immediately after bellows) holds protective shield made in form of circular member with convex surface for overlapping the bellows in compressed state with piston in lower position. Protective shield may be made in form of segment of torus; circular members may be made from rubber-lined material. EFFECT: enhanced reliability of protective device; reduced axial dimensions of movable casing in compressed state at retained maximum stroke of rod. 5 cl, 2 dwg
