FIELD: fuel assemblies of nuclear reactors. SUBSTANCE: spacer grid that functions to space apart fuel elements in fuel assembly so as to improve quality and safety of the latter is built up of cells joined together by resistance welding and provided with chamfers and corrugations where ratio of top rounding radius to base transfer one is below 0,5; it is characterized in that welds between adjacent edges of cell are made over radius equal to at least two thicknesses of cell wall δ. Optimal diameter of spot welds makes up three or four thicknesses of cell wall at width of direct relative contact between welded edges of cells making up 1.5-2.5 diameters of optimal spot; spot welds are located not below chamfers and gaps made at least on side where fuel element enters the cell at corners of its adjacent welded edges; at least one corrugation is provided in gap between two adjacent cells of peripheral row on at least three edges of rim. EFFECT: improved performance characteristics and facilitated manufacture of grids. 3 cl, 4 dwg
