FIELD: metal working with employment of grinding wheels and COTC, applicable in any operations of grinding of blanks made of various material. SUBSTANCE: combination grinding wheel successively carries out multistage grinding with employment of COTC in each stage. Abrasive segments are rigidly attached to the wheel body. Segments with solid lubricant are located between them for radial movement. Solid lubricant is fed to the zone of engagement of the wheel and blank in the cutting-in stage and final stage, the lubricant flow rate is adjusted by dosed extension of segments with solid lubricant. In the rough and/or finishing stage such an extension is stopped. Water lubricant-coolant is fed to the zone of working. It features good washing and cooling properties. At transition to the final stage of grinding feeding of lubricant-coolant is stopped. EFFECT: accelerated attainment of the preset quality of ground surface and prevented mixing of lubricant-coolants differing in chemical structures, which considerably enhances the working productivity. 2 cl, 4 dwg
