FIELD: mining industry, geomechanics. SUBSTANCE: method may be used in prognostication of zones on ground surface which are hazardous for caving and in provision of safety in mineral mining. Method includes construction of sections based on data of geological and test holes, determination on the basis of the sections and data on mining, mine surveying and geomechanical documentation of quantity of worked out overlapping deposits and detection of hazardous zones on ground surface and plotting them on combined plan of mining operations and surface. Measured above detected cases of overlapped worked out deposits on entire field is depth of mining with consideration of thickness of spaces between formations and total thickness of deposits. Constructed on the basis of obtained data are isolines of total thickness of worked out spaces and ratio of mining depth to total thickness. In so doing, taken as potentially hazardous are zones in which isolines coincide and critical conditions of caving of ground surface are present. EFFECT: higher reliability and efficiency. 4 dwg
