FIELD: mechanical engineering; internal combustion engines. SUBSTANCE: main shaft of 2-cylinder opposed piston machine with cranks arranged at 180o is made in form of hollow eccentric shaft with four eccentrics playing the part of cranks. Journals of two middle eccentrics are connected with one of pistons by means of connecting rods with solid eccentric head, and journals of extreme eccentrics, with other piston. Main and eccentric journals of shaft are installed in antifriction bearings, pistons are of short-stroke type, and piston pins do not limit displacement of slider-crank mechanism parts near bottom dead center. EFFECT: reduced overall dimensions of slider-crank mechanism, improved specific mass characteristics of mechanism. 4 cl, 2 dwg
