FIELD: metallurgy, more particularly preparation of various cast semifinished components operating under increased wear conditions, more specifically double layer rolls with working wear- resistant layer, rolling mills, crushing equipment, building crushers, and in food, flour milling, brewing industries mill for crushing malt. SUBSTANCE: cast iron comprises, wt %: carbon, 3.0-3.3; silicon, 0.3-0.6; manganese, 0.3-0.6; phosphorus, 0.3-0.8; vanadium, 0.1- 0.4; iron and admixtures, the balance, vanadium to phosphorus content ratio being 0.3-0.5. As impurities, cast iron comprises nickel and chromium, up to 0.4% each and sulfur, up to 0.02%. Wear-resistant cast iron of the claimed composition makes it possible to increase wear resistance of cast iron of working layer of product due to greater hardness and stability to obtain desired structure with crushed and uniformly distributed components of cast iron microstructure and also cut down cost price thereof by not using highly deficient and expensive components.
