FIELD: mining. SUBSTANCE: method is used for prediction of time of natural and technogenic earthquakes. The method includes drilling of holes down to crossing of persalt brine horizon 1.5 m below its foot and filters are installed in drilled holes at level of persalt brine horizon. To prevent uncontrolled losses of gases, a packer is installed. Passage of long-period waves of deformation through potash salt mines is determined by drilling holes within contours of mine fields. High gas liberation in salt cracking are confirmed by taking gas samples in holes with determination in them of concentration of methane, hydrogen and carbon dioxide. Time of earthquake is predicted by changing the level of underground waters with consideration of increasing concentration of methane, hydrogen and carbon dioxide. EFFECT: higher accuracy of prediction.
