SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for preventing flooding of potassium mines. Method of preventing flooding of potassium mines involves creation of annular water-lowering circuit from vertical pumping wells. Wells are placed beyond the boundary of the rock decompaction zones around the sinkhole funnel with provision for reduction of hydrostatic pressure and formation of the depression cone in the water-bearing horizon of the terrigenous-carbonate strata in the section of the sinkhole. Anti-filtration curtain is created inside the water-lowering contour in the lower horizons along the bedding of rocks of the salt-marl strata and in the salt-bearing stratum in the sections of rock decompaction adjacent to the sinkhole. Sinkhole funnel is filled with low-permeable materials with overlapping of water-bearing horizons.

EFFECT: providing safe mining operations, reducing the volume of supra-salt water inflow into the salt-bearing part of the section of the rock massif and inflows of brines into the mine workings of the mine.
