FIELD: recovery of homogeneous and heterogeneous liquid radioactive wastes. SUBSTANCE: device has vessel 1 for liquid radioactive wastes, dehydrating- apparatus vessel 2, dehydrating apparatus 3 connected to separator 4 and condenser 5. Device also has mixing vessel 10 communicating with dehydrating apparatus, vitrifying agent vessel 6, and with vessel 8 holding heterogeneous liquid radioactive wastes, such as ion-exchange resins. Mixing vessel communicates with storage vessel 11 which is connected through vortex apparatus and feeder 13 to induction furnace 15 for producing vitrified mass. Induction furnace has cold crucible and movable inductor. Crucible drain arrangement has drain pipe with U-shaped water-cooled jacket, top lid, and water- cooled drain valve. Water-cooled jacket of drain pipe is built into cold-crucible body so that its flat wall functions as part of crucible body surface. Furnace outlet is connected in tandem with filter set 18, filter-set condenser 19, filter-set condenser vessel 20, absorption unit 21, heater 22, catalytic reactor 23, and catalytic-reactor condenser 24.
