FIELD: recovery of radioactive ion-exchange resins for their long-time storage. SUBSTANCE: plant has mixer, powdered or granulated waste charging unit, and furnace. Furnace has thermochemical reactor with its housing built of funneled rings mounted in a spaced relation or of telescopic tubes mounted in a spaced relation, and its hinged screen bottom assembled of at least double-layer set of plates. Plant also has casing around thermochemical reactor housing , slag discharging unit, air intake with cyclone-type mixer incorporating gas supply nozzle and air intake pipeline with built-in heater, as well as filter unit, exhaust system, and gas-collecting pipe all joined in tandem. Filter unit is jointed with thermochemical reactor; plates of screen bottom layers are arranged in staggered manner.
