HAND-HELD CULTIVATOR Russian patent published in 2000 - IPC

FIELD: agricultural engineering. SUBSTANCE: hand-held cultivator has S-shaped handle with extensible mid portion. Handle is fixed asymmetrically on vertical rod at an angle of 15-60 deg to vertical plane. Rod may be secured at adjustable height. Tine teeth are formed as paired parallel spirals of different radius oriented in clockwise direction. Length of arm of right-hand handle exceeds length of arm of left-hand handle. Cultivator is equipped with facilities allowing left-handed worker to operate this cultivator. These facilities include spirals oriented in counterclockwise direction, and length of arm of left-hand handle exceeds that of arm of right-hand handle. Cultivator may be used for soil ripping and weeding. Such construction reduces fatigue by involving into operation of different groups of worker's muscles during soil ripping.
