FIELD: agriculture. SUBSTANCE: method of postharvest treatment of grain prior to laying for prolonged storage involves treatment with propionic acid containing 0.01-0.1 wt.% of arachidonic and/or eicosapentanic acid, and/or their lowest acrylic ethers till formation of film on surface of each corn seed. Prior to treating with propionic acid, chitosan is introduced into it in the amount of 0.01-0.2 wt.%. EFFECT: increased efficiency and prolonged storage life of treated grain.
