FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: device for production of molten pig iron by direct reduction of iron ore has metallurgical reactor where iron ore is subjected to final reduction with obtaining of process gas with the help of supplied coal and oxygen. Obtained process gas is partially burnt and supplied to melting cyclone in which iron ore is subjected to preliminary reduction and gets melted. Reactor has upper part where partial burning of said process gas is effected. Upper part is made in the form of pressure resistant cap having internal wall with water-cooled pipes. Lower part has pig iron bath with slag layer above bath. Final reduction of preliminary reduced and melted iron ore takes place in reactor lower part which is provided with internal refractory lining and means for water cooling of internal refractory lining. EFFECT: improved control of heat fluxes and reduced maintenance costs due to perfected design of metallurgical reactor. 12 cl, 4 dwg
