FIELD: mechanical engineering; instrumentation. SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for checking quality of raceways and rolling surfaces of bearing races. To reveal and evaluate out-of-roundness of real raceway, race to be checked is subjected to radial circulating loading at working frequency and local loading of non- checked race, and frequency of rotation of cage and route mean square values of alternating components and harmonic components of normalized integral time of electric contacting are measured.
