FIELD: nuclear reactors. SUBSTANCE: device that functions to automatically introduce spring retainers into open end of can filled with fuel pellets and to prevent their incorrect entrance in can with their taper end forward has its pellet feeder and storage built integral and made in the form of hollow drum with blind end wall on one side and closed with cover on other side; it also has reversible motor that sets the drum in reciprocating vibratory motion about its axis and piece-by-piece ejecting mechanism for press-fitting retainers in inlet channel which is placed in bottom part of hollow drum; retainer inlet channel is provided under cradle sink port coaxially to open end of filled-up can and tapered on side of joint between open end of filled-up can and retainer inlet channel; drilling is made on end of rod with drive for fitting retainer into open end of filled-up can; drilling diameter is greater than locking section of spring retainer and smaller than inner diameter of taper section of the latter; at least two electromagnet rods with sensors interacting with reversible motor are mounted perpendicular to retainer inlet channel axis.
