FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method is used to produce Mo-99 isotope from irradiated uranium base fuel. For the purpose, irradiated uranium base metal target is dissolved under low- melting metal layer in molten chloride salt incorporating chlorinating agent, liquid metal phase is separated, molybdenum-99 concentrate is extracted and then refined.
