FIELD: preparation of thermosensitive paint. SUBSTANCE: method comprises treating alumosilicate material, e.g. sodium zeolite, with solution containing cobalt and potassium salts with content of metals in solution in zeolite bulk, wt %: cobalt, 3,2-4.0; potassium, 9-40; iron, not higher than 0.006, stirring the solution, filtration, washing and drying of precipitate. Invention makes it possible to prepare stable thermoindicating pigment which locates short circuits of electrodes in copper electrorefining and maximum recovery of cobalt into zeolite.
