FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to chemistry, more specifically to a new colour reversible thermal indicator, and can be used for visual control and indication of temperature conditions and metering of temperature fields of surfaces of objects in various technological processes. Disclosed is chromium-lanthanide colour reversible thermal indicator based on dihydrate of hexa(isothiocyanato)chromate(III)diaquatris(nicotinic acid) of ytterbium(III), having the ability to reversibly change colour when heated to temperature of 112 °C. Starting substances used are potassium hexa(isothiocyanato)chromate(III) and nicotinic acid produced by the industry as an inexpensive drug (vitamin PP). Obtained substance is stable during storage, is non-toxic and has no smell.
EFFECT: availability in production and ease of use in practice.
