FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves applying computer tomography examination of anterior surface of the chest when setting the patient with his back to reference surface. Anatomically outstanding bone reference objects are detected and profiles of the surface under study are built in horizontal cross-section. Graphic presentation of the surface as axonometric projection is produced. The so obtained chest surface cross-section images are used for determining the sternocostal fossa depth. The value being equal to 175-160 deg, I stage chest deformity is to be diagnosed. The value being less than 160 deg, II-III stage chest deformity is to be the case.
