METHOD FOR CARRYING OUT PROJECTION MAPPING OF INTRACRANIAL PATHOLOGICAL OBJECTS Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves using localizing unit put-on over patient head in performing computer tomography examination. The unit has two tubes filled with contrasting agent and set in two mutually perpendicular planes. The localizing unit is fixed relative to patient cranium. Horizontal tube of the localizing unit coincides the orbitomeatal line and the vertical line runs along the external acoustic meatus line. Pathologic object boundaries are measured on the produced tomograms with reference point of measurements set relative to the vertical line being in perpendicular relation to the orbitomeatal line via the external acoustic meatus line on each tomogram every 5 mm. After making all measurements, the corresponding points are transmitted to skin surface of cranium vault of the patient under study relative to these anatomical lines.
