FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves making computer tomography examination of lungs when admitting a patient in hospital during the first hours after trauma on the artificial lung ventilation background with FiO2 - 0,21 with 10 mm step. Whole lung mass is calculated and assumed to be the initial value. Computer tomography examination of lungs is carried out during the whole acute period and the period of blood oxygenation index falling, respectively. Whole lung mass is determined. The received lung mass is compared to the initial one. 10-19% increase being found, I order acute respiratory distress syndrome is considered to be the case. 20-39% increase being found, II order acute respiratory distress syndrome is diagnosed. 40-79% increase being found, III order acute respiratory distress syndrome is diagnosed. 80% and higher value being found, IV order acute respiratory distress syndrome is diagnosed. EFFECT: enhanced accuracy of diagnosis.
