FIELD: mining; applicable in support of mine workings. SUBSTANCE: prop has external and internal pipes with upper and lower supporting members, retainers and screw pair having nut and screw. Screw pair is made in the form of ball-and-screw gearing. Nut is rigidly connected with internal pipe and screw is rigidly secured to bushing fitted on wedge installed in holes located at definite spacing on external pipe.
