SUBSTANCE: device surpasses limitation for using direct access storage devices, which capacity is greater than 528 MB, due to restriction of Interrupt 13 method in standard personal computer system by means of translation of address access of cylinder-head-sector. Address of cylinder-head-sector in first information frame, which is subjected to restrictions of Interrupt 13, is translated into address of cylinder-head-sector in second information frame, which conforms to restriction of physical characteristics of direct-access storage device.
