FIELD: systems for detection, identification and tracking of object, in particular, detection of an aircraft, its identification and mooring (parking) control systems, and methods for aircraft movement monitoring for detection and identification of objects on airfield. SUBSTANCE: system uses laser pulses to obtain the object profile at a distance. First the system scans the section before the gate until the object is detected and identified. When the object identity is known, the system tracks the object. Using the information on the profile, the system can in real time present the aircraft type, the distance from the holding point and aircraft lateral position.
