FIELD: electrical engineering. SUBSTANCE: chemical current source has set of plates, electrolyte, and vertical case built up of two coaxial parts arranged for relative displacement, one of them incorporating set of plates with electrolyte and other one holding additional amount of electrolyte. Set of plates has at least two metal-air members isolated from each other by electrolyte; case part holding set of plates is provided with guides for extracting set of plates from and immersing it into electrolyte incorporating holes to pass electrolyte and air; other part of case holding additional electrolyte is provided with separating projections on inner walls and in bottom of case which are abutting against external surface of case part holding set of plates; case parts are sealed by means of adjustable-tightness annular packing. Electrolyte passing holes are provided on side surface of case part holding set of plates below bottom edge of the latter. Number of electrolyte passing holes equals at least that of metal-air members mounted in case part holding set of plates. Proportion of inner spaces of both case parts is 0.5-0.8.
