FIELD: water absorption methods. SUBSTANCE: layered products of invention are designed for absorption of water and aqueous liquids and can be applied as hygienic goods and also as ingredients in natural and artificial soils, as insulating material for pipes and main lines, especially for cables and structural units, in packaging materials, and as constituents of clothing. Product consists of at least one water-soluble polymer foam layer and also of fine- grain superabsorbing polymers. Superabsorber is located on, between, or under polymer foam layer at specified quantitative and/or spatial distribution and weight ratio of foam to superabsorber from 1:500 to 50: 1. polymer foam may contain fillers, pigments and/or synthetic fibers. Product is manufactured by spreading foam over a surface followed by applying superabsorber in specified proportions (using pattern, if necessary) and heat treatment fixation.
