FIELD: chemistry of polymers. SUBSTANCE: present invention describes polymeric composition, especially composition of absorption material or biologically active agent-containing depositing material consisting essentially of water-soluble and/or polysaccharide-based polymer capable of being swollen in water as main component (A) and water swollen polymer as other component (B) as polymeric composite parts and also matrix material to prevent stratification and gel blocking, ionic or covalent cross-linking agent, reactive additive, and antiblocking agent. Component (B) includes polymer and/or copolymer of metacrylic acid, metacrylonitrile, metacrylamide, vinyl acetate, vinyl pyrrolidone, vinyl pyrrolidine, maleic acid, maleic anhydride, itaconic acid, rthaconic acid, itaconic anhydride, fumaric acid, vinyl sulfonic acid and/or 2- acrylamido-2-methylpropane sulfonic acid. Polymeric composition and absorbent prepared by simple procedure are biodegradable, have comparatively high rate and capacity as they absorb water and aqueous solutions.
