FIELD: mechanical engineering; materials handling facilities. SUBSTANCE: crane tongs control mechanism has crossmember with fitted on support, mechanism for turning tongs relative to vertical axis and tongs opening and closing mechanism consisting of drive motor, brake reduction gear and lever hinge-coupled with tail part of bushing. Cranks are fitted on output ends of reduction gear shafts. Cranks are hinge-coupled with connecting rods. Connecting rods are hinge-coupled with fork of lever encompassing reduction gear housing. Opposite end of lever is installed on axis secured in bracket fitted on support. EFFECT: enhanced reliability of tongs control mechanism operation. 4 dwg
