SUBSTANCE: gear incorporates rectilinear magnetic circuit made of individual bars carrying coils. Single-layer coils are arranged at lower and upper levels. Coils of one level are connected in opposition and coils of different levels are displaced by half of active length and shifted through 90 degrees relative to each other. Coils of both levels can have same active length. Length of gear can be elongated or shortened by way of connection or disconnection of bars of magnetic circuit with coils depending on number of billets and their sections.
